Aspire Development has been collaborating with English Heritage Trust to understand their organisational needs and deliver the Level 5 Management Apprenticeship.
Sophie Robertson, a Volunteering & Participation Officer at English Heritage Trust, shares her experience with the apprenticeship, highlighting how the skills she has developed have benefited her in the workplace.
The skills developed on the apprenticeship
We asked Sophie what she was hoping to achieve during the programme. She says, “I was hoping to achieve more confidence in my personal capability and to develop myself in areas where I felt I had skills-gaps.”
She continues, “These expectations have definitely been met. I feel much more confident and capable in my job. I have discovered a lot of personal self-resilience, and I now know better my preferred working style. This has helped me to identify my strengths and comfort zone, but also focus on developing the gaps in my skills and stepping out of my comfort zone.”
Exciting career development
During the apprenticeship, Sophie had been recognised as a key team player and was given a great opportunity to step up into a new role. She went from being a Territory Volunteer Manager, based in the regional team, to Volunteering & Participation Officer.
Sophie explains, “Although in the same banding, I used the skills I learned through the apprenticeship to support my application and, now in role, to also successfully support and deliver projects.”
She continues, “Supporting colleagues across the charity is a scope I never would have thought to have taken on before completing the apprenticeship, which gave me the confidence that I had the skills to do this role well and the encouragement to apply!”
We are incredibly proud of Sophie’s achievements, both on this apprenticeship and her successful career development within her organisation.
Why an Aspire Development apprenticeship?
We pride ourselves in delivering the best leadership development apprenticeships and adopt a learning structure we know our learners will benefit from. Sophie explains what she found appealing about our programme.
“ I enjoyed the supportive element of workshops, and that everything included in the course was linked to your day-to-day working so you were gaining practical experience as well as theory. I also really enjoyed the self-reflection element at the end of each module, this is something that I will look to keep up with in the future as I found it really useful for working through problems and reflecting on your successes and improvements.”
Our leadership development apprenticeships could be the perfect solution for you and your organisation. Please contact us today to speak to a member of our team and find out more.
